Kimberly N. Walker, CPA obtained her Master’s degree with a concentration in auditing and information systems from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Illinois in May 2001.
Kimberly started her career with Kemper CPA Group on June 5, 2000 as a part-time accountant while completing her graduate program at SIU-Carbondale. Upon graduation, Kimberly began full-time employment with the firm and successfully completed the CPA examination in the spring of 2003.
Kimberly was promoted to senior accountant as of May 1, 2003. During this time she began to assist in all aspects of the Marion, Illinois office, including employment decisions, staff evaluations and development, in addition to monitoring the fiscal operations such as financial performance and budgeting. While taking on additional responsibility within the office, Kimberly was promoted to manager, as of May 1, 2005 and was admitted to the firm’s partnership on May 1, 2006. Because of her dedication and hard work, Kimberly was promoted to managing partner of the Marion, Illinois office on September 1, 2014.
Kimberly has experience in preparing individual, partnership, corporate, fiduciary, and estate tax returns. She has extensive experience in auditing for small businesses, financial institutions, and not-for-profit organizations, as well as for various governmental entities such as financial and compliance audits through different State of Illinois offices.
Kimberly and her husband, Chris, have one child, Jordan. They reside in Marion, Illinois where Chris works as a physical therapist assistant at Heartland Regional Medical Center. She and her family are life-long residents of Marion, Illinois.
