Curtis S. Benson, a 1996 graduate of Lawrenceville High School, graduated with high honors from Wabash Valley College in 1998. He then attended Eastern Illinois University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2000. He earned his CPA certificate in 2003.
Curt started his career with Kemper CPA Group LLP in 1999 as a college intern and began full-time employment with Kemper CPA Group LLP in June 2000. He was employed with Kemper CPA Group LLP until September 2002, when he accepted a position as a financial analyst with a regional hospital.
In June 2004, Curt returned to Kemper CPA Group LLP as a senior accountant. Curt joined the firm as a partner in 2007. Since then, he has provided auditing and accounting services to governmental and not-for-profit organizations, utility companies, construction contractors, grain dealers, and other various small business enterprises. Curt also has extensive knowledge concerning the taxation of corporations, partnerships, and sole-proprietorships.
Curt has been an elected member of the firm’s Executive Committee since 2013. In May 2018, Curt was appointed partner-in-charge of the Vincennes office.
