Michelle joined the firm in 2005 and began working in various areas within the office including accounting, tax, and medical billing. She now manages the medical billing staff and works directly with clients to assist with their practice management needs. Michelle has detailed knowledge in revenue cycle management, managing the appeals process, EDI transactions, ANSI 5010, Medicare and Medicaid EHR Meaningful Use programs, Physician Quality Reporting System, analyzing payer contracts, credentialing, coding, and quality control review. She also has assisted clients by working directly at their office. This gives her added insight as to what takes place in a busy medical office.
In 2002, Michelle graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Martin (UTM). She then went on at UTM to receive a Master of Business Administration degree, and graduated in 2003. Michelle was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Theta Kappa, and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies. In 2008, she passed the Certified Professional Coder examination, and she has actively participated in various leadership positions within the Mt. Vernon chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). In 2012, Kemper awarded her the Richard J. Roth Leadership Award.
